Explore the captivating history of Portuguese tiles while delving into the intricate patterns that define them, in this painting class at Treehouse Hotel in Sunnyvale. You will have the unique opportunity to paint your very own tile using a traditional Portuguese motif, and by the end of the experience, you will walk away with two beautifully painted tiles that can serve as charming coasters in your home. In addition to the hands-on experience, participants will gain valuable insights into the rich history of Portuguese tiles, with a brief presentation that explores the evolution of tile design and techniques throughout the centuries.

You will choose from four architectural patterns—each an 8"x8" sculpted relief square inspired by historic Portuguese facades and traditional azulejo motifs (like Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods). With a palette of beautiful colors and step-by-step guidance, you’ll paint and customize your design to match your personal style.

Zero experience needed: Whether you’ve never picked up a brush or love crafting, this is all about enjoying good company and having fun.
