The meaning of our brand name

Alzuleycha is inspired by the details of Portuguese architecture, but it was one of its most identifiable characteristic that gave it it's name, the wall tiles.

In the Portuguese language the word tile translates to azulejo, whose etymological root is the Arabic word azzelij (or al zuleycha, al zulaco) which means "small polished stone".

Portugal was part of the al-Andalus territory for almost eight hundred years, the arab conquered the territory to the Visigoths around the year 711.
